We are looking for self motivated individuals who are excited to join us in building an outstanding emergency medicine training program. Only a few years ago, the presence of an emergency medicine residency in Utah was still just a dream. We are about providing great medical care in whatever environment we may find ourselves to those in great need. We believe in training in low-resource settings, so that you will be able to provide excellent care in challenging environments. We consider it a privilege to live and work in our multicultural city with its large refugee population that allows us to practice global medicine each and every day.

Meet Our Faculty. Applications open for program review on September 29 for the application cycle. The department has a census of about 50, patient visits annually and provides excellent care for acute emergencies in all subspecialties of medicine and surgery. Patients from all over Utah, Nevada, Wyoming, Idaho and western Colorado are referred to the emergency department for definitive medical care.

All full-time faculty in the division are trained in emergency medicine and certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. Attending faculty are on duty 24 hours a day and are directly involved in the clinical training of housestaff and medical students.

Academic faculty in the division are active in ongoing clinical trials and research at the University. The division also has a Clinical Toxicology Consult Service.
